Toured New Zealand in 1978 Opened August 12 - closed October 7

 

This was a tour, mounted by Rayner Bourton, the original London cast Rocky, although he didn't stay for the full run. Permission was given by Harry M. Miller. Strangely, the cast recording features a picture of Max Phipps from the Melbourne production, a photo taken by Jon Fabian and doctored to have Glitter's head, without permission.

Sal Sharah, reprises his role as Riff Raff from the original Australian production and Gary Glitter turns in a surprisngly good Frank.

Paul Johnstone played the dual Eddie/Dr. Scott roles, having been an understudy in the Original Australian Cast, and playing the same role, in the ill-conceived Brisbane show.
